Executive function skills do not come naturally, as they are learned skills. Students will gain a solid grasp of what executive function skills are and how they impact their lives both in and out of the classroom. Specific skills such as time management, organization and long-term project planning will be demonstrated. Students will discuss their learning profile and be able to articulate their strengths and find ways to work with their challenges. These life skills coupled with a gradual release of responsibility will support students’ journey to academic independence.
